In a short span of two years, Mattamy Homes' GTA Urban Division has made a significant mark in the Greater Toronto Area's real estate world. Since its launch in June 2021, the division has recorded an impressive tally of over 1,500 sales and 1,200 occupancies, and has added more than 4,300 new units to its portfolio.

Reflecting on the division two years on, Mattamy Homes' Urban Division was an ambitious step by North America's largest privately-owned homebuilder to broaden its presence in the multi-family and high-rise sector in the GTA. Today, the division oversees 40 high-rise and multi-family projects within its master-planned communities in the Greater Toronto market, with a pipeline that has swelled to over 13,700 suites across 19 communities.

The division had an impressive start to 2023, Mattamy Homes initiated construction on three eagerly awaited communities in the GTA: Westbend Residences in Toronto, Mile & Creek Condos in Milton, and Martha James Condominiums in Burlington. These projects underscore Mattamy's commitment to addressing the region's pressing need for well-designed, multi-residential communities in strategic locations.

  • Westbend is the first new condominium project to be launched within 500m of High Park in over half a decade.
  • With the scenic Niagara Escarpment close by on the horizon, Mile & Creek Condos in Milton is the inaugural phase of a six-building master-planned condo community, providing a golden opportunity for homebuyers in a challenging market.
  • Martha James Condominiums in Burlington combines the allure of one of the GTA's most sought-after communities with the convenience of urban living.

Brad Carr, CEO of Mattamy Homes Canada, expressed his enthusiasm about the strides made by the Urban Division, noting that "to now have shovels in the ground proves that well-located developments that are reasonably priced and designed for homeowners will always perform." He pointed this out as "a testament to the dedication and passion of [their] team ... and continues to prove [Mattamy's] confidence in the market and ongoing investment in GTA real estate."

The Urban Division's achievements reflect Mattamy's dedication to meeting the GTA's growing demand for increased density and affordable housing options. With ambitious growth plans for both the 416 and 905 regions of the GTA, Mattamy Homes is set to continue its ascent in the urban, multi-family, mid- and high-rise units market.
