The redevelopment nears of what were aging two-storey commercial buildings on Bloor just west of Jane subway station in Toronto's Bloor West Village, as demolition carries on at the site of Bijou on Bloor, a 12-storey, BDP Quadrangle-designed condominium development from Plaza.
The building will go up on the site of the shuttered Humber Cinema that was part of the Bloor West Village area scene since 1948. So far, demolition has cleared away all of the buildings to the west of the former Odeon, with only the red brick theatre building itself remaining to remove.

Once demolition is complete, excavation of the site will commence. A pit will be dug to a depth of three storeys that will make room for the building's 3-level underground garage.

Upon completion, Bijou on Bloor Condos will be comprised of 20% retail and 80% residential use, housing a total of 195 condo suites. The development is scheduled for completion in 2025.
