For this week's Throwback Thursday, we take to the skies over Midtown Toronto to show just over one year of changes. Aerial views facing south over the Yonge-Eglinton area, captured in summer 2018 and again in summer 2019, reveal progress on a handful of high-rise developments.

In the 2018 view show below, three new towers in the area had recently topped out. At the bottom of the image, Montgomery Square had just reached its final 84-metre, 27-storey height at Yonge and Montgomery. To the south, E Condos' 58-storey condo tower and 38-storey rental tower had also reached their final heights of 196 and 123 metres—but both E Condos towers are only wrapped halfway up with cladding.

Fast forward one year, and all three towers have wrapped up construction and welcomed new residents. A few new projects are also joining the landscape now. Just south of Montgomery Square, and tucked in to the left of t in the image, Whitehaus Condos has begun rising a half dozen storeys at Yonge and Helendale, while the early stages of construction are progressing for E2 at E Place, on Roehampton just east of Yonge. South of the now-complete E Condos, a sliver of 2221 Yonge Street is visible, which will rise 193 metres into the local skyline. A few blocks to the east, the 26 and 28-storey rental towers of the Lillian Park development have entered the view as well.

We will return next week with another look at the changing face of Toronto.
