The new Garrison Point community is well into construction in Toronto's Ordnance Triangle—a small wedge of land bounded by the Kitchener and Lakeshore rail corridors—bringing a mix of condominium and rental towers on the eastern edge of the Liberty Village area. Four towers are rising here now—a fifth will finish off development of the triangle in the future—two of which are rental apartment towers ring from one podium. Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, they will be known as Novus at Garrison Point and are from developer BentallGreenOak. Garrison Crossing, a new pedestrian and bike trail connection to the north and south which was opened earlier today, is just one block to the east.

The complex's 25 and 34-storey towers are quickly rising above Strachan Avenue, now reaching heights of 14 and 16 storeys, and climbing at a rate of roughly three levels per month. At the current rate of forming, and with the holiday slowdown fast approaching, the towers are expected to top out in Winter 2020.

When we last checked in on construction early in September, the first panels of cladding had been installed in the form of a window wall system with clear glazing and creme-coloured spandrel panels framed in thin grey mullions. In the weeks since, more of these panels have been installed, offering a hint of how the project will look upon completion.

The finishes have been joined by panels of dark, reflective curtainwall glazing on the podium levels. Using glass vacuum suction lifters, the panels are being safely lifted up from the ground-level staging area and into position on the podium's exterior.
