The area surrounding Toronto’s Downsview Park has been steadily intensifying for several years now, and the recently completed Downsview Park Station on the Toronto-York Spadina Subway extension has been acting as a catalyst for even more growth. A handful of projects were introduced in the area bordering the park last year, including the first phase of Mattamy's Saturday in Downsview Park, coming to Keele Street at the park's southwest corner.
Following brisk sales for the Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed community's first building, Mattamy is gearing up to launch Saturday in Downsview Park Phase 2. Like the initial phase, the 7-to-8-storey second building (the site has a sloping grade) will rise across the road from the park. Phase 2 will feature a mix of 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom suites, ranging in area from 501 ft² up to 962 ft². As well, a limited collection of townhomes from 1,324 ft² to 1,535 ft² are available at ground level. Many of the popular suite layouts from the first phase will be returning alongside new suite layouts. Pricing for the new building starts from the $400,000s.
Like the initial phase, the second building will feature common and amenity spaces appointed by GCB interior architecture inc. Residents and visitors will enter via a two-storey main lobby featuring large windows, study niches, a co-working space, rock garden, communal bar, and 24/7 concierge service. Connected at the base, the two buildings will share amenity spaces including a children's' playroom with arts and crafts stations, and a reservable party room.
The wide range of amenities also numbers a multipurpose space with a kitchen, bar, dining and lounge areas connected to an outdoor patio with a barbecue station. Residents will also have access to The Fitness Zone where they will find areas for cardio workouts, circuit training, free weights, spinning, yoga, boxing, and more. Proximity to Downsview Park factors into the amenity offerings too; pet owners will be happy to know that a dog wash area is waiting for them at Saturday in Downsview Park Phase 2 when they return from a run with their pet in the expansive green space.
