A new thread in UrbanToronto's Projects and Construction subforum is dedicated to a property to the east of Liberty Village which is currently the subject of a rezoning application. UrbanToronto members Mike in TO and Solaris published details of the application for the site, a spot where the rezoning was refused not long ago.
Now it turns out that alternative energy pioneer Morgan Solar, a current lessee of industrial property on the site is concerned about having to move, and is mounting a campaign to save jobs on the site. Morgan Solar questions whether Toronto should be rezoning any active employment lands in the city to allow yet more land for condominiums. Toronto Star writer Tyler Hamilton has all of the information on his blog Clean Break: it's worth the read.
