The view up Yonge Street from Dundas takes in many more pedestrians than cars, but far more asphalt than sidewalk. As more and more residential towers are completed along Yonge in the coming years, there will be evermore demand for walking space as the local population swells… one that doesn't tend to bring cars with them. The City has a plan called yongeTOmorrow to remake the street in a way that prioritizes pedestrians, but the problem is that it's starting to feel like tomorrow is forever in the distance… like The One, under construction on the horizon in this shot by UrbanToronto Forum contributor A Torontonian Now.
