With a shooting in Brampton over the weekend, I got to thinking, which parts of the GTA have the most shootings. By GTA parts, I'll use the old six municipalities of Toronto, plus the usual suburbs of Brampton, Pickering, Mississauga, etc.

I live in Cabbagetown, and I'd say the old City of Toronto where I'm located has its share of shootings, but it seems to be in decline from the late 1990s when I first moved into the area.

Brampton's had 36 shootings, including as Men with Brooms (2002), To Die For (1995) Police Academy (1984), Dawn of the Dead (2004) (according to IMDB). Mississauga had 44, but I bet many were at the airport, so they don't count.

Scarborough had 56.

Given that Brampton has fewer people than Mississauga or Scarborough, it is likely more common for shootings.

That link is not all shootings, but I'd say the majority of shootings are in the Jane/Finch area, or some area in Scarborough.

You can click 'type' to see shootings in red. Basically, murders occur in a big V, including downtown and going NW and NE, and shootings are spread pretty randomly throughout this V.

The part with the most Shuters is directly E of the Eaton Centre garage entrance/exit on Yonge

I'd imagine most of the shootings occur in school classrooms (those evil kids;) OCAD, Ryerson, UT, GB--basically anywhere film and photography students hang about.

Then there's always the shooters on street corners--the naked lunch set....

There's plenty of shooters in Bagdad--of all nationalities!

Judging by all the war memorials around town, I'd imagine most Toronto shooters are dead!

Next topic for Mr Beez: where are the most WASP's found in Toronto? (Answer: in the cemetery)
