I just sent my completed heritage nomination request form for this property to heritage preservation services. I have strong support from the North York Community Preservaiton Panel, so we'll where this goes. Hopefully this beautiful house can be preserved.

Check out the size of the property. Also, it's nice to see a fence, that is adjacent to an arterial road, designed well and delicately. Note the cut out sections that accommodate the existing trees on site, as well as providing visual relief:

I was browsing Google street view, yesterday, and happened across this intriguing house. Does anyone know anything about it? Its stonework is quite beautiful, artisanal and unusual. Could this have been a house that was built prior to the surrounding neighbourhood, that managed to survive development, or just a one off, custom built home?

Thanks. How did you find it? I originally searched for the street via the City of Toronto’s Heritage Property Search, but no matches were found, thus, I figured that it wasn’t listed or designated. Good to know that it is accounted for. It is a quite a charming property. The stone wall compliments the house and landscaping. The house is also nestled on a small ravine and on a cute little bend in the road. Very organic. When the house was built, I imagine that the ravine was much larger. It appears to be a remnant of the Mud Creek greenbelt; which originally ran above ground, well north of its current, northerly limit (Mt. Pleasant Cemetery).

Edit. Nevermind, I didn’t notice that there was a map that showed all of the City’s heritage properties.
