TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The new subway map is up on the website - http://www.ttc.ca/PDF/Maps/Subway_Map.pdf

The graphics for the Spadina interchange station is quite different. And Downsview has changed direcxtion from the last version on the website.

Will this be what we see on the trains? I was surprised the other day to realize there were no line numbers on the current maps on the trains! Presumably they'll update those on the trains sooner or later.

For reference the version a few days ago on the website was - https://web.archive.org/web/20141128044652/http://ttc.ca/PDF/Maps/Subway_Map.pdf

Back in late 2013 we had - https://web.archive.org/web/20131126052831/http://www.ttc.ca/PDF/Maps/SubwayRT_Map.pdf

Earlier in 2013 (and since at least 2008) we had - https://web.archive.org/web/20130629182818/http://www.ttc.ca/Subway/interactivemap.jsp

The version with the black background was still on the website back in 2007 (and seems little changed back to 2003) - https://web.archive.org/web/20070407162314/http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/pdf/subway_rt.pdf

Though back in 2002 the fonts looked poor - https://web.archive.org/web/20030412033207/http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/pdf/subway-rt.pdf

First time I've thought about it, but it does slowly look better over time!

Wow, nice maps.

What till you see what it looks like when there's:
- North York Extension
- Eglington Crosstown
- SmartTrack
- Scarb Subway
- Central segments of GO RER once they're nearly subway-frequency and better TTC interchanges
- Probably UPX, for completeness' sake

You leave Toronto today, and come back in 15 years, you wonder how the Toronto subway map miraculously doubled or tripled in size with a kaleidoscope of new line colors. Near zero change in preceding 15 years, followed by a very loud deafening map explosion in next 15 years. Still won't be enough for Toronto, but much better than today.

Looking forward to seeing it with the Vaughn extension...and eventually the Eglinton line.

New map is definitely an improvement. I really like the addition of the Airport bus. I also like how the new map doesn't make the Sheppard Line look longer than it actually is. A stubway is a stubway.

Ah, that's an interesting change.

The new map makes it look too short. Don Mills is north of somewhere between Coxwell and Woodbine. 404 north of 401 was Woodbine. Donlands should line up with Leslie. Looks like they had it right originally, but blew it with the last 2 versions. Though with all the Sheppard East LRT stops, they'll need the space!

And the Don Mills LRT will be at a 45 degree angle away from downtown.

I actually like the station names on Bloor at a 60 degree angle. It seems easier to read. I would probably put the Yonge station names on a 30 degree angle as well.

If only there were a bus from Downsview to York U, they could show it as well.
