TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

4454 is now off loaded after being loaded Jan 19 (83 day)

4460 has taken 4454 spot on the flat.

How fast will CP remove this flat and replace it with another this week??

When better batteries are invented no trains may need any overhead wires. Hopefully they could refit the current streetcars with such batteries and then take the overhead wires down afterward.

Overhead wires keep streetcars moving rather than stationary while charging. However, it would be helpful to be have enough to be able to run streetcars through a de-energized section (if the swept path is clear) rather than having to divert, or to run streetcars under a low clearance bridge without enough room for even bar overhead.

4449 has finally been off loaded at Hillcrest after sitting at Lambton since March 16. It been off site 145 days

4462 has taken 4449 spot on the transporter and this leaves only 4 more cars to be ship.

4452 is the next car to be off loaded that is currently sitting in Lambton since March 16. Can CP do a quick switch of cars this week so 2 cars can be off loaded in one week??

4456 will be the next car and not expected to be here until the end of May

4523 is in pre-service on Bay Street on April 30, 2022:

So much for 4452 being off loaded today considering it been in Lambton since March 23,

4456 was off loaded today that only arrived in Lambton last week.

4457 Arrived May 4 in Lambton as well

Assuming 4463 has taken 4456 spot on the flat, this leaves 3 more cars to be ship for repairs.

4452 has finally been off loaded after it arrived March 23 in Lambton Yard. Been off site since Jan 13.

4457 will be the next car to be off loaded.

4464 took 4452 spot on the flat leaving 4465 and 4466 still to be ship. With luck, 4466 should be loaded the first week of June and should be back late Aug and back in service by the end of Sept.

4463 was seen leaving Toronto Monday for Montreal.

This will close the book on the weld repair once 4466 returns.

Still leaves 4471 and 4478 to be return from full rebuilt that is currently over 1200 days since they were ship for cleaning. Still expecting them to show up in early 2023 as test models for the next batch of 60 cars to be added to the fleet starting late 2023.

4457 has been off loaded after been shipped Feb 23.

I assuming 4464 has taken 4457 spot on the flat leaving 2 more car to be ship.

Noticed yesterday, the 501's are using pans now in place of poles.

4458 is at the dock to be off loaded.

Another car in Lambton yard at the west end of the yard, but can't see the number as it is behind other cars. Could be 4465 that was moved to allow 4458 to be place or another car.

4466 should be the last car to be ship to QC after it replace 4458 spot on the flat.

4466 could be back by Sept 5 to close the book on the weld issues. It should entre service by the end of Sept to Mid Oct depending on the time get it into service.

Now we look to 2023 for the return of the 2 cars in Thunder Bay that will start the roll out of the next new 60 cars for TTC.

CP must be really short on staff.

CP must be really short on staff.

What makes you think CP is the obstacle? TTC may not want to pay weekend rates to their own staff. Nor would they want to pay CP for an “extra” yard job. A few days’ demurrage may look the the better option from the customer’s perspective.

(CP may be undertaffed, btw, but this isn’t the proof of that)

It could be CP is short on crews as noted as well in the past or TTC is at the bottom of the list. It took CP 2 week to pickup 4465 at Hillcrest and place 4458 in its spot this past weekend. This will be the last pickup that I know of with 8 more drop off this year until 2023 when 62 more drop off will start.

There were 2 Road locomotives sitting at Lambton 8627 & 8707 and not the first time seeing this type of power sitting in the yard by themselves. Could been used to bring cars from Agincourt and to pickup cars to go back or dropping off cars/pickup on a mainline move to/from Agincourt.

TTC has never off load a car or load on the weekend or holiday since the docking bay was built.

When you have cars sitting in the yard a from a few weeks to a month as well taking weeks to remove a car from Hillcrest this last year is saying something.

Then TTC has taken a few week days to a week to off load a car after it was drop off.
