I believe I heard early on in the project that the AGO's façade would be holding the streetcar overhead wires since the canopy nearly meets the street.
They are going to leave everything the way it is and fill in any holes, uneven pavement etc., with asphalt. Its a sure shot solution, Toronto style!
What concerns me is that The Grange be maintained as a restored picture of what life might have been like there in the 19th century. In order to appreciate that the general public must have access to the WHOLE house, as they did before this renovation began.
The plan at the moment is for the second floor to be closed to visitors. Those plans can always change however.
