According to the most recent site plan, the approx. 10,000 square foot retail space next to Longo's is still available:

Construction Update:

Before you get a green roof, you start with a thick layer of rich soil. Structural steel is going up over the area of indoor loading docks. The tunnel to the Federal building and Madison Centre has re-opened, entrance located at the back of the food court, west corner next to a new entrance from Greenfield Ave. It got a fresh coat of paint but nothing else and a large water leak is being addressed. Much interior work remains behind the drywall facades. Popeye's Chicken will open shortly.

Labour Ministry inspectors are examining a scissor lift that fell over around noon today. I didn't see any emergency response so employees may have been very lucky to escape injury.

Has the tunnel to the Madison Centre reopened yet?

As Constructo mentioned earlier this month, Tunnel between Sheppard Centre and Madison Centre/Fed building has reopened,.... offering direct almost fully public (Menkes Ultima P1 Parking level technically for residents only - unless you manage to follow someone in) and almost continuous underground connection to GibsonSquare (where Fatty seems to be).

Yonge Street between Sheppard and Finch was closed off the last couple of days (now re-opened and getting back to normal),.... this remnant of North York Centre underground PATH system helped pedestrian navigate through the area but very few actually know about it,....

I've been waiting to make a meal out of a huge baked potato with toppings, a unique concept at Potatopia and I looked into their unit today to find an empty shell. I thought they might have backed out so I contacted the owner, Allen Dikker, who told me they're looking to open in July. That's a lot of lost sales but he wouldn't give any reasons for the delay.

Potatopia still don't have City Building Permit yet; they submitted building permit application on April 10 but there's issue with their "Zoning Review" - "Deficiency" which seems to be holding up the other (Code, Fire, Plumbing, Mechanical - most as Not Started).

Thanks for that, Ray. Hard to understand why a company would not submit an application much earlier in order to open in March or April as other outlets did. I'll continue to do the behind the scenes work on-site and leave the research to you.

Work continues on the office buildings with the black, waterproof coating and metal fittings are being attached to support the metal panels. The footprint of the residential building grows each day.

They could have gotten away with just painting the tower black rather than recladding over the existing concrete panels.

When you flip a property, a quickie paint job is a good idea.

Here the "black paint" is actually waterproofing. Here RioCan will also be adding insulation between the panels and waterproofed concrete,.... and new windows too,..... bringing the 2 office towers up to today's energy efficiency standards VS the previous mid-1970's standards. Why? Because RioCan is here to stay,.... not flip.
