Does anyone know why they had to change the cranes for this construction? The roads were all closed off last weekend when I was in the area.

Now that they are past the podium, construction should speed up.

Something I learned from talking on the sky Tower thread is luffing cranes are much slower than a hammerhead so could have been due to site constraints they needed to use that crane till they reached the podium and could switch to a hammerhead

Correct. Site constraints until they could clear the adjacent Quantum podium.
