Toronto Union Centre | 298m | 54s | Westbank | Bjarke Ingels Group

how is the UP terminal supposed to work with this building under construction?

It will work just fine, the UPX terminal is east of this proposal(the part of the skywalk that is not highlighted) and Union station is further east, meaning they will always be directly connected;

The western portion of the skywalk, the part highlighted in yellow, might be closed but aside from baseball games at the Skydome/Rogers Center its lightly used.

Has anyone heard about any formal plans for a PATH connection north to Simcoe Place? And west via the Intercontinental to the Convention Centre? I think these 2 connections are pretty critical.

The SkyWalk will not be closed after the building is complete, though it will be rebuilt.

It's crazy to see how shrimpy Simcoe Place looks in that last image. It used to be so prominent on the skyline. 10 years ago it was the 12th tallest building in Toronto (according to skyscraperpage.com). Now it's the 59th tallest building (including buildings currently under construction but not buildings that are only proposed).

Yeah, that is interesting. Imagine how it'll look if something fills up that n/e corner of Front and Simcoe.

And then the Intercontinental Hotel on the SW corner is/was part of the Oxford proposal that had a new tallest going there. It would have been a tall intersection.

would have? cant propose tall beautiful buildings like that and then not do anything ever. a matter of time! a matter of time.
