Thank you savevp - excellent photo of the project - it gives a far better feel to the scale and massing than any of the renderings.

Looking very interesting! This will be quite the unique backdrop for Varsity Stadium. Looking forward to high-quality cladding here.

It's a great design, but there goes any hope of the Argonauts returning to their ancestral home as it's getting boxed in on all sides. This site is sacred for football folks.

Definitly looking forward to the cladding. This area overall will look renewed with the redone RCofM, the recent UofT builds, this new Athletic Centre, the redo of the stadium, Exibit and the ROM.

I am holding my breath that the cladding will be half decent - it is one aspect of the plan that has clearly suffered from some value-engineering.

Nice touch by Ellis Don to put that "Go Blue Go" banner facing the stadium.

It seems from the renderings that there are trees on the rooftop, so I wonder if they couldn't have made a deal with Trinity to put all the tennis courts up top and then make the building run even further south?

Marko:

Land is at a premium at the St. George - I think they will want to reserve that site for another development instead of having this building take up more space.

I, not normally known for his concerns over aesthetics on this forum, was driving by on Bloor the other day and I would have to say this building's massing and the rendering we see here somewhat concern me. I will wait and see but it reminds me a lot of U of T's Athletic centre on Spadina 2.0. I hope the finalized building proves me wrong.

Makes sense, and the rooftop could still be the place to move the tennis courts if some other development does displace them.

I've seen the renders and can't figure out whether the basketball court/stadium is subterranean. My guess is that it is about two-floors below, and that there are offices/labs above it (?). Kind of wish that more was going in here given it's centrality, proximity to Bloor and subways.
