Selby is rental so to keep folks interested and coming back, it was / is in Tricon's best interest to do something that's a cut above. Sales in a condo, by contrast, are based entirely on renders and marketing bumpf...
Ummm isn’t bc owners of rental buildings want to avoid the constant maintenance of crap wall systems so they spend a more up front on durable assemblies, while condo developers punt future inevitable maintenance costs onto condo boards and so spec cheap window wall?

This building due to the style or architecture ,while adding a dramatic exclamation point while looking east along Bloor Street, looks as though it has always been there. I'm pleasantly surprised at the height here and glad this has been built. However I do feel something a little more interesting could have happened. Maybe there will be some dramatic lighting at the top?

It's funny how perspectives totally change the relative heights of this tower vs The Selby. The one from Glen Rd makes it look a lot taller (8-10 floors) than the Selby. The zoomed-in shots from The Esplanade show that it's about 3 floors taller. Along Sherbourne anywhere north of Carlton you can barely see it peeking above and behind The Selby.
