Strange video. Why would anyone want to swim in this small water basin, which is, by its nature and design, a catch basin for all the garbage floating in Lake Ontario? Notice the comments on this CBC video are turned off.

It is NOT a 'catch basin' though it certainly has not got much water flow and once flotsam gets there it cannot really get out and god knows what is lying on the bottom of it . Another problem is that parts of the concrete surround are very deteriorated with exposed rebar etc. Parks (who are responsible for it) told me 18 months ago they were 'hoping' to repair the concrete but I do not think they have done so. Certainly great to have it cleaner but I would not swim there - definitely not today!Strange video.
