What is with those useless squares of plants? If you don't have room for trees, so be it. But just put a couple of nice, moveable, stone or terra cotta planters and do flowers. That looks goofy, and the plants will get trampled.

I believe those plants are Burkwoods Osmanthus which are dog pee tolerant. Since dogs gather important social networking information with their noses, I think this landscaping is a wonderful canine amenity (a doggy internet cafe if you will).
