Not necessarily an easy site. Setbacks from the existing apartment building, along with OPA 183 mandated setbacks and terracing from Yonge mean that the fruit is not as low-hanging as it may seem. Also, the owners of the four-storey assembly at 565-597 Yonge aren't interested in selling. At least they weren't a few years ago when I looked at it.

i am really excited / anxious to see how they end up cladding the podium. I am really rooting for the success of this part of yonge street as it has had a pretty rough history

I think it should be nice. Lanterra does a pretty good job on the exteriors...especially with aA.

Is it? Now perhaps. But this one has been generally very slow and not entirely steady. I realize it had structural concerns due to the subway tunnel which took time, but it felt like there was little progress for quite some time.
