So it looks like the final colour for these beams will be white not blue. Guess the blue layer is some sort of protective paint.

Work completed to date includes:

  • Exterior curtain walls and glazing nearing completion
  • Roof installation nearing completion
  • Atrium skylight glazing complete
  • Installation of elevators ongoing
  • Installation of Interior partitions ongoing on floors 1 to 5
  • Mechanical and electrical systems and equipment installations are ongoing
  • Streetscape infrastructure along Jarvis Street nearing completion
Next steps:

  • Complete exterior envelope enclosure and finishes
  • Continue mechanical and electrical systems and equipment installations
  • Continue installation of interior partitions
  • Commence installation of interior finishes and painting

I keep hoping that the Front Street facade will grow on me. But the semi-transparent glass panels on the upper floors give the facade a cold and anonymous feel that's lacking in focal points. It's not what was depicted in the renderings. Regular windows were depicted in the renderings.

I'm hoping that transparent glass at sidewalk level will provide a much-needed focal point and a sense of warmth and vibrancy to the building. However, the northwest corner of the building at Front and Jarvis is supposed to have anonymous features as well--some sort of blank wall that looks like it will conceal mechanical elements.
