Toronto Sonic and SuperSonic Condos | 96.31m | 30s | Lindvest Properties | Arcadis

the 2 proposed towers will sit directly north/south of each other and located on the parcel west of the church property shown in the above aerial photo, Wilket Creek Road will be extended west to connect with the existing Forester's private laneway, on the portion south of the church there will be a block of stacked townhouses / park / new street / another block of stock townhouses (not shown in above rendering)

Effectively the Lindvest parcel creates an L that wraps around the church that is truly midblock with no frontage on Rochefort, Don Mills nor Eglinton. Forester's surface parking lot at NW corner of Rochefort and Ferrand do not form a part of this project and will remain.

correction: the new east-west street does not line up perfectly with Wilket Creek Road but instead is slightly offset to the north

If that is the case, this project is excellent filler.

Ah so the city owns the parcel at the SE corner of Don Mills-Eglinton. Must be used for the Crosstown construction.

I was worried we would be getting townhouses in that location, which I feel is not appropriate. But at this location by the church, it will be a good addition, sort of like The Berwick at Yonge-Eglinton.

The developer went with HP for B Street Condos; why not go with them here, or another quality firm? Why is it that the suburbs always get P+S and Kirkor galore? Is the thinking that suburbanites are less sophisticated and therefore have lower expectations?

Yes.

April 15 site visit.

Update:
New development is intensifying along the future route of Toronto's new Crosstown LRT in advance of the line's 2021 opening. Just southeast of the future Science Centre (formerly Don Mills) Station at Don Mills and Eglinton, the latest residential development to begin site preparation is Lindvest's Sonic Condos, which saw its first activity a few weeks ago when shoring rigs arrived on site.
