I have been looking at this formerly empty lot sincere moved to Toronto menu moons ago. Finally something is going up here and what a relief it will be for this corner. I've always disliked the two empty lots on either side of Church Street. Most surprising is how close this is to king and bay! I wonder what was here before the empty lots.

They filmed the Kiss movie "Detroit Rock City" on this lot back in the late 90's. If you look closely you can see St James Cathedral in the background

Yep, this fills in a critical gap in the St. Lawrence market area. This lot has always been a bit of a blight.

Here's the best picture I can find of the south side of King and Church, from 1856. This is looking east on King, you can see St. Lawrence Hall's cupola thing in the distance. Mind you, this is LONG before those parking lots, but still interesting!
