Finally a condo pool with good length to it, but still way too narrow. It should be twice as wide. People are basically forced into little pockets instead of having sufficient space to move freely and be able to be more playful and splash around if they choose. One couldn't even do a full lap if people are standing at either end of the pool. What fun is a pool if people are confined to such tight spaces? It's like being in a large hot tub.

aesthetics over function seems to be a common theme in today's new condo market. The pool is utterly useless if you plan to swim in it.

That's exactly it. They're designed to look nice, and that is it. Isn't that a wasted investment, however, for the developer(s)? And would making it twice as wide really hurt its aesthetic? Such a slender pool is fine only if it is filled with several Fido Didos and Harry Stinsons

Yes! It's not public art or cute love locks but rather keys for units that so many people are trying to dump. We tried to as well, but not when your place is worth less than what you paid for it. I guess these people don't care about bailing and losing money. We wish the developer would stop wasting money on all their 'cool' parties and spend it on fixing up things and making our common areas decent. Such crap

Wow! Actions speak louder than words and having that many Unit keys sitting out - presumably most for resale purposes - does lend credence to the statements that the building is crap.
 
You see a lot of lockboxes outside of new condos in occupancy. Could be a sign that the condo is crap or that investors are ready to pull out and get their money.

That said, I've never seen that many lockboxes ever. I counted 75. Holy **** !
 
Yes, sadly, it's crap. We have no clue how to make the situation better. We were screwed over. Investors are taking a loss here because low rents aren't able to cover costs. It's only going to get worse for them when the rest of the West Don Lands opens up next year, hence the push to get out now. There's more like 130 lock boxes in various places in stairwells and other fences.
 
I am not doubting that there are nearly 100 lockboxes just on that fence. However, on MLS I see only 13 listings for sale and 14 for rent. What is the reason for the discrepancy?

We moved in last month, and so far things aren't too bad. Yes, the quality of the workmanship is not excellent, due to the rushed nature of building the interior and perhaps lack of highly skilled workers. But the builder has been enthusiastic in getting things fixed, and the person they sent to help fill Tarion forms was actually finding little defects that we missed.

Worst things I have noticed so far:
1. still need to put carpets in common element areas, finish hallway painting
2. construction means there is no direct access to pool, have to go through phase 1
3. exposed concrete ceilings could look nicer
4. East facing units extremely hot even with blackout blinds
5. not having a concierge in building (have to use the phase 1 person)
6. mentioned earlier in this thread, the lack of guest parking spots, or even spots for owners to rent

There are also private listings, Airbnb guests, lockboxes for trade (cleaners, dog sitters, contractors, etc...)
 
There is nothing _that_ wrong with any of the units here - it's just there are a lot of investor owned units and they're trying to cash in.
