Just posted on Yahoo News:

An article about the luxury "Penthouse" suite at the Ritz. I put penthouse in quotations because technically it's a "Mid-house" in the middle of the building.

$6000 bucks a night gets you this:

I can see the visiting MLB and NBA teams staying at the Ritz. They usually stay at the Four Seasons or Hyatt when in town. When i stayed at the Ritz in Philly the NY Mets were staying there, with all their" handlers" carrying the athletes luggage. When you make millions of dollars a year playing a sport you don't have carry your own luggage.

I would assume the hotel in MLS for NBA/NHL teams just for convenience?

The decor and colours are just terrible--straight out of the 70s wood panelled basement era. What an embarrassment. Money really can't buy you taste.

Yeah. for 6 grand a night i was expecting to see something with over the top opulence

For $6000 grand a MONTH you could probably rent a similar-sized furnished condo in downtown Toronto. Think of how much delivered food, nightly hookers and special service you could order with the other $180,000 dollars you didn't spend at the Ritz that month.

Say what you want about Dubai... But those people know opulence.

For 6 thousand dollars I want half naked slaves waving ostrich feather fans over me while others peel grapes for me to eat.

I'm totally underwhelmed by the interior as well. It has zero wow factor. If money were no object, I would not consider staying here, as the lack of opulence is an insult for the prices. For $6000 a night, I would expect everything Traynor said, in addition to having a buffet of escorts presented to me.
