The traffic lights are not timed yet - some super european system is still being setup, and with the left turns controlled by signals - streetcars are not going to have any where near the same hassle they use to have.
Been said before, Come June with 2 way traffic back on this road, traffic light will be time like they are supposed to be to allow streetcars to travel faster than the past.

Can't do it with one way and current setup.

If they keep the light red all the time at the fire station until it needs to be change, streetcars will fly along this section. Biggest stop for the streetcars now.

The 95% of the road itself is ready for traffic and will be 100% by the end of April. 75% of the south side is ready done, but will not be 100% complete until the summer unless a huge force shows up to lay the pavers, especially west of Spadina.

Fencing is up where the Martin Goodmen Trail will be that is mostly complete as well the unfinished sidewalk.

We may see trees going in this month, more so in May and this will change the look of the street even more.

The fire station actually has its own line to the traffic system. If I remember right, as soon as the fire truck exits the station the light will change.

According to the latest WT weekly bulletin the lights at the Fire Station are not yet final: They said:

• EMS Driveway to Peter Slip Bridge: Last week, utility/electrical crews completed the conduits and wiring for the pre-emptive traffic signal installation for the EMS and Fire Station. These pre-emptive signals will become operational once the new traffic controls and signals are installed on the Queens Quay, later this spring. Crews removed the remaining sections of fence that protected working areas along the pedestrian paths between the grass mounds located within the HTO Park.

This "super european system" is exactly the same system used on the rest of the dedicated ROW lines except The Queensway (which instead uses the adaptive SCOOT control system and does not have TSP).

I believe the system is disabled on Spadina indefinitely though.

Its installed, they just don't have it enabled.

We're starting to see the whole thing wrap up as more fences come down and sidewalks are being finished. Almost all of the remaining sidewalks were being worked on simultaneously today. The section around Spadina Quay and the one in front of Harbourfront at York Quay had the most manpower.

With only fences separating the new sidewalks from the line where the old sidewalks used to end, it's easy to imagine how wide these pedestrian thoroughfares are going to look. It's no longer a matter of imagining the south side without cars. They're now clearly relegated to north of the streetcar tracks with no remnants of them ever being on the south side. The only thing left to the imagination were the still unplanted trees. Queens Quay is going to look incredible by this Summer!

Yes, all the "small parts' are coming together very well and they are certainly working full-out to get things done by the official opening on June 19, There are many photos and an updated "% completed" chart in the March Construction Liaison Committee Report at http://www.waterfrontoronto.ca/uploads/documents/march_2015___clc_final_1.pdf

The opening is announced as:

The opening of Queens Quay is scheduled for June 19, 2015 at 6 p.m.
•Queens Quay will officially open at the Simcoe WaveDeckwith presentations from representatives from the three levels of government
•This will be followed by a symbolic planting of the last tree on Queens Quay

the only question I have left is when are the hydro poles going to be removed? one is sitting in the bike path, another two are obstructing the sidewalk on the northside.

Is there more hydro work expected along the finished granite side-walks on the north side of the road? I've been noticing that a lot of the round hydro access points in the side-walk don't have the granite cut to be flush with the opening like it is with the tree inserts and manhole covers. Instead they have sand packed into the gaps. It looks messy. I've been wondering if I should take some pics and send an inquiry to WT or if there's still more work to be done.
