I had the honor to be in the Toronto Pride parade of 06 on Sunday June 25. Weather was perfect, in the 85F/30C range without a cloud in the sky all day.
Since I was in the parade, I had a little different vantage point, but was able to get a few floats in as well. Enjoy the Canadian boys (and girls)!
Here are the photos walking through the parade route along Yonge St. before the parade actually began. The parade began on Gay Standard Time (GST) about 30-45 minutes after it was scheduled.
Since I was in the parade, I took photos of the floats before they made their way up to the actual route:
Here is my friend Louroz aka. FutureMayor with a friend. So much fun, so many smiles.
I'd love to fly if he services me!
Some people are demanding!
Okay, finally the parade itself. I was standing behind the Liberal Party float. Note: I don't support Michael Ignatieff, its just the spot I was given.
The immigration people were behind me, representing gay immigrants from around the world who have come to Canada to find refuge and freedom:
And it ended. Such a parade, such a day. Toronto is great, and so is the pride parade and festivities.
This small photo thread doesn't do the day justice. The entire city was a party until the wee hours of the night (as many of you know).
