August 31, 2022: Portland Commons construction from above. The view should improve as construction progresses.

September 1, 2022.

Lots of concrete poured today - third floor slab at the south side of the building. Form work for the fourth floor of the north portion of the building is now in place. Given the size of the floor plate, construction seems to be moving very quickly now.

Forming for the Fifth Floor well underway at the north side of the building. Overall construction is moving very quickly now. Which of course means we are losing more of our view. Our once panoramic view of the Union Station Rail Corridor and trains moving all the way between Spadina and Strachan will soon gone completely.

Big pour for the north end Fifth Floor slab on Friday - a mobile concrete pump truck and both cranes doing bucket lifts all day. Two photos, Friday evening with the pour just finished, and smoothing underway, and Saturday morning, a crew in inspecting the work and setting up for Monday's activities.

The bronze on the lower floors is promising but not a fan of the cantilevering/suburban industrial style pillars.
