once there was a proposal about the height increase 33 bay street tower, are they still willing to do additional floors to this building or they have quit already because the city did not issue yet a permit?

They are, GO are creating a glass part in centre of the shed - more details in the Union Station thread and on GO site.

They should demo the convention centre (build towers on the site) then move it above the train tracks, basically covering the tracks from Bathurst to Parliament eventually....

This might happen, just not in our lifetimes... or in about 50 years or so.
maybe... it totally makes sense to make this space available for the development of the city.
