There will be a progressive/NDP person running to get that share of the vote. I see that James Sears has registered, but he is a perennial candidate.

I don't see why he wouldn't. Ford isn't bound by the typical policy of rewarding long-term MPPs with a seat on the Executive Council. Mammo could end up Minister of Tourism or something. Kicks the pants off his previous career peak as Chair of the Zoo board.

Yeah, he also said he's contemplating running as MPP. Premier Ford with Minister of Municipal Affairs Mammoliti is a truly terrifying prospect. Toronto would be pooched regardless of who is mayor.

Based on Layton's and KWT's comments in that article, it seems to me that something is brewing among the lefties. I would expect them to get behind a left wing challenger to Tory... particularly if Mammo splits the right-wing vote...
