Urbanity-wise this project also completes an important piece of the area's puzzle, as it provides a solid transition along Bathurst into the rapidly intensifying King West district.

Im not a fan of the floor plans.. everything is a tiny long narrow tube with no view.
Anything facing south will be bombarded with the noise from the trains and Gardiner, west will be hot, east faces another building, and the smallest units face north and will be dark.

You're basically describing virtually every project downtown.

Anything facing south will get views of at least two new parks (and maybe a great big one someday), and a bit of lake if you're high/lucky enough, west will get brilliant afternoon light and sunset views, etc...

This will go some way to making this area feel less crummy, but really it's the rail deck park that would be needed to finally clean it up.

I think it'll happen (to at least some degree) before that -- remember there are two new parks in the works directly south (albeit across the rail corridor) and directly to the west (albeit across the street) from this site.

So it looks like the north half of the site is being fully constructed above grade too now (not just the underground garage) ... wonder if anyone knows what the confirmed plan is for the northern half?

The north half of the site is definitely being built - it is now well above grade for much of its area. My understanding, from neighbourhood comments, is that it is (at this point) purpose built rental.
