BACKGROUND: Maple Leaf Square is a privately owned $400 million

complex. Toronto's fastest-selling 872 unit two-tower residential condominium

Year - recognized for providing the best quality of life enhancing aspects.
Maple Leaf Square is anchored by retail space comprised of a 47,500 sq.
ft. Longo's grocery store; a two MLSE restaurants - fine dining and high-tech
sports themed restaurant and bar; sports retail store; broadcast studio and
theatre; plus a day care centre, and a 171 room boutique hotel. The complex
also offers 171,395 sq. ft. of leasable office space.

any rumours as to which hotel/brand is looking to pick up the the lease in the Square

Probably a very appropriate height for the area- it will help bridge the gap between the big-boys in MINT and the 300-400 footers on the waterfront.

buildup, I'm not sure but I don't see why they wouldn't do them at the same time.

edit: typo making me say exactly the opposite of what I was trying to say

Everything will be built at once - it is an approximately 3-4 year construction time frame. The underground work digging down and building the garage and u/g facilities will take nearly two years. The podium will take nearly a year and the towers above the podium will take about a year.

the parking lot west of this site is paved.they are also errecting a big tent next to the telus site,i dont know if this is where the opening party will be or if the tent will be moved to the mls site.

Not sure if they are referring to that parking lot but today's Star mentioned Lanterra picked up 2.8 acres to the west of the MLS site and will be working with Cadillac Fairview to build "a similar vision" to MLS.

you are right it is the newly paved parking lot.actually it think
cadillac fairview bought it but yeah it will be interesting to see if they put two big towers with a big podium there as well

You can really see how MLSE has become a real estate corporation posing as a sports properties owner. The sports properites are just content for the important stuff, and provide brand equity for the real estate.
