No, the WT competition for the Lower Don Lands was in 2007; the TWRC EA for the Don Mouth was initiated back in 2006 and approved in 2014. That's just the scheme for creating the plans for the new outlet for the river; actual landscape design work on the park proper is a lot less. Also don't forget the project didn't get full funding to proceed to construction stage until 2017.

...because some segments of the population behave like animals when relieving themselves, does not mean we aren't still in need of public washrooms. It's far better than someone leaving a loaf on a park bench because they needed to go in the example. >.<
 
Waterfront Toronto's FARM Ctte agenda for Sept 19th is out.


Not a lot of material news.

On the Porltands/Lower Don work; things are tracking behind schedule. They will be in an all-out push to wrap work by June '25 in time for the opening, it's do-able; but don't be surprised if it's pushed back a month or two.

On Lake Shore Blvd East they are tracking 2 months late and 1.5M over budget. Current projected completion is Nov '25.

I didn't see anything the last time I was that way a few weeks ago. But then again I didn't realize they were adding a stair there. Is it supposed to be on north or south side of Dundas? I'll have a look the next time I go by.

Happy to see this but a bit surprised as I would assume bridge removal (Old Eastern and Enbridge). Would screw up the new paving. Maybe they will open from at least King to Corktown?
 
That paved path is the most exciting thing I've seen all year!

I've actually never seen a freshly paved path. That's awesome.

No more roots causing big natural speed bumps.

Folks on e-Bike are going to rip along this so fast now and destroy joggers and normal cyclists. Collisions are going to be crazy.

Spoken like a true UTer. If things are good, there are perils in store and if things are bad then that's just to be expected.

Honestly, since we know how the city has near non-existent coordination between projects, I'm willing to bet when they remove the bridge, the newly paved section will be ripped up or at least damaged.

How many of those were pedestrian at fault?

It's a tragedy any time anyone gets killed.

But it's important to note whether this was a driver at fault or a pedestrian at fault - who did something that a driver couldn't avoid.

Some would like to blame drivers for all deaths regardless of the situation, but that's not reality.
