A great article in the G&M about the steps taken in the Lower Don for stormwater featuring The Portlands. Very intriguing thoughts on how WT could move a bit north along the Don to work its magic. I love the idea of this organization slowly being given more critical areas and funding!

Honestly with usual costs for infrastructure in Canada, $75 million for a destination park doesn't seem too horrible. Hopefully government funding come quickly or it could even be good PR for some larger companies to cover the cost and get their name attached. Hopefully it gets funded before the costs rise further!

I was coming home from Peterborough this evening on The Gardiner and noticed that the Don Roadway is really prominent now and may be close to the height needed to pave. Will try to get pix as I am down there this week.

Yes, the Don Roadway at the Commissioners St end is just about at the right level now - though I doubt it is ready for paving yet. It will be interesting to see how they link it to the planned extension of Polson St (or, more importantly, how Polson will cross the flood plain!)

The Ship Channel Bridge (Cherry St. Bridge) roadway will be open to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3 and 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5.
There has been a minor revision to the repair schedule as crews proceed with ongoing critical repairs. As a result, the bridge will be closed between 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5 and 3:00 p.m., Friday September 6. It will reopen at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 6 and is expected to remain open until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, with a brief overnight closure on Tuesday, September 10.
