Apocalypse? 2012? but my credit doesn't get restored til that summer! I'll never be able to enjoy the mid-level condo by the lake I've wanted to buy since 2003 :(


I walked by this site this morning and finally looked in behind the hoarding and man.........I almost got vertigo...and I'm a roofer (yeah, it's deep!).

And the dump trucks seemed like they were a simple sneeze away from just dipping right into that thing.
 
2012? Apocalypse?

I'm still waiting for the Harmonic Convergence or the Jupiter Menace. Global Warming is supposed to kill us all in seven years.


I'm sure Shangri-La will trump them all.

Oh dear. Did I say trump?

short press release regarding the crane install on March 29th.....and I think its pretty certain that the building will now be 66 storeys....

LIVING SHANGRI-LA TORONTO - The deepest excavation in the City of Toronto at a depth of 31m

TORONTO, March 24 /CNW/ - Located on the North/West corner of University
and Adelaide. The exotic and luxurious Shangri-La Hotel and condominium will
have 200 hotel rooms and 360 condominium homes. The glass curtain wall
building will be an illuminating 66 storeys high.

The tower crane is being installed on March 29th.

62 tonnes of reinforcing steel has been delivered for the tower
foundation and crane base.

A total of over 100,000 m3 of material has been removed from the site and
a further 7,000 tonnes of steel will be utilized to complete the structure.
Completion will be mid 2012.
