This crossing will not be completed until 2019, as there too much work still be done, including the 2nd bridge.

The boxes over the support, middle and ends are enclosure to allow full moment welding to be done under ideal condition. The arch and bridge had to be ship in 2 sections.

The ramp is partly completed at Fort York and have photos of it that is about a week away being posted as they were shot on a different day.

The large mobile crane is back, and I have a feeling they will lift the first bridge section into its permanent location soon.
According to the latest official update:
Metal fabrication of the bridge structures is nearing completion. In late-spring/early-summer 2018, the bridge structures are scheduled to be delivered to the site and assembled into complete bridges for installation over the rail corridors by a large crane in July and August of 2018. Completion of the bridges' construction, lighting, landscaping and trail connections to Ordnance and Fort York is targeted for late September of 2018.

Thats because we are so behind Europe in how to build things, let alone manufacture them. We have to import very skill workers since no one want to learn the trade here, since it blue collar work.

Most crane manufactures only exist in Europe and ship them there.

Remember working for a company that started a rental crane business and all of them came from Germany ranging from 15T to 400T. Seeing one of the 400T up close and getting into it was something.

Crawlers are get for these type of projects and this can lift 400T by itself.

Love to be around when they lift this in place and will most likely be done this weekend between 2-5 am when no trains are on line. This should go over the Lakeshore Corridor.

That's a bit surprising considering most of the labour in constructions are from EU..also most of us keep forgetting we still developing this city still young and wow that crane it's not even in one piece yet..so big..
