Four Seasons project in Toronto moving upward

Construction continues on the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences on Scollard Street in Toronto, Ont. Menkes Construction Ltd. began the two-tower project in summer 2008 and completion has been scheduled for summer 2011.

The 55-storey hotel tower will have 253 suites with 101 private residences and the second tower will be 26-storeys with 103 residences. The towers will be connected by an elevated pedestrian bridge.

The project was designed by architectsAlliance and Page & Steele Inc. Consultants are: Stephenson Engineering Ltd. (structural); MMM Group Ltd. (mechanical/electrical-hotel); and Hidi Rae Consulting Engineering Inc. (mechanical/electrical-condo).

I wonder what those steel columns are for in the middle of the site. Kind of a weird spot to see structural steel, with all of the rebar columns around it
 
When is the city going to relocate that Fire Station? Yorkville's heavy pedestrain traffic makes it increasingly inappropriate for heavy, fast, emergency vehicles.
I'm sure the firemen are looking forward to 4 Seasons guest oggling, but c'est la vie.
