Whats the deal? Wasn't it topped off already?

From most of the shots I shot of the top, you see nothing until you get far away. Then, then only you can see thye rebar for columns to support the mechanical. To be, that is when the building is top off.

You can see the column from St Charlies

You can see the columns now from Five site.

Great pics. I can now see this building peaking above the treeline all the way from Bayview and Sheppard.

What's the height of this one? Emporis has it listed at only 623ft.

Topping off ceremonies have more to do when when you can coordinate all of the big-wigs schedules to get them together, alert the media, arrange catering, arrange proper headgear and steel-toed boots for the invitees, etc., than it does with the actual last pour. So, as ceremonies, they are ceremonial topping-offs, and not actual topping-offs.

I think most people are aware that the typical topping off is for ceremonial purposes only. However occasionally it does coincide with the actually topping off.

What irks me a little is when we get headlines such as "Topping Off an Icon: The Concrete Is Done At The Four Seasons". (http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2011/06/topping-icon-concrete-done-four-seasons)
As noted within the story - "The bucket was than slowly hoisted back up the tower for what would be the final concrete pour of the project, bringing to completion the construction of the towers rooftop mechanical room."
Just another case of bad reporting I suppose. Either that or whom ever he was talking to either didn’t know or was lying.
