Cladding has begun on the north side. I didn't get a close up, but it looks solid from what I had seen. I took these two hours ago.

This building is now very much visible and already prominent looking down from Hurontario on the other side of 403.

Which is amazing if you consider that most North Americans have probably never heard of Mississauga before. I noticed that in most videos discussing skylines in North America, when Toronto is mentioned, it is restricted to solely the downtown core and I always wonder when the suburban skylines would be either included in that overview or added as additional items.
One anecdote I can give: in 2016 I was on a flight from Edmonton to Toronto and as we were landing a man and his young son/nephew next to me were looking out the window at the Mississauga skyline and the man said "Look [insert child's name], we're over downtown Toronto... but, I can't find the CN Tower though?!"

One of the things I love about GTA's skyline is that its very spread out with lots of clusters of high rises. You don't see this in North America where all the tall buildings are in one area.
This is more similar to Asian cities where they have multiple nodes of high rises.

A friend used to work at a Mr Sub at Yonge and Finch. He said he'd get tourists coming in on a regular basis asking where the CN Tower was. They thought they were downtown. Compared to many American cities the North York skyline is pretty impressive.

Yesterday, both towers are making their presence felt now. I think once the 60+ floor towers are done they will have a huge visual impact on the area.

I read on the StatsCan website that there about 68 000 residents in the city centre which would make it larger than many older NA downtowns.

It was a great day so I thought I would check out the cladding that @GenerationLee mentioned earlier and see if I could get a few closeup shots. Thanks for the heads up!
When i took this next pic I was thinking that it was same perspective as some of the concept art for the project. I'm gonna have to go back and look for the concept art but its really starting to gain some street presence thanks to that cladding.

Would I be correct to assume that the tower which is further along will be the shorter of the two?

Yes. But from the shape of the furthest along the taller tower here is the "pink" one...which is not the tallest of the lot. That would go to the "blue" tower which is still below grade I believe. Unless I am reading those this all wrong.

Correct with a small update: the yellow tower is below grade while the blue tower has not started construction yet and its site is still being excavated.

The black is more matted than I was expecting, but absolutely zero complaints there. I think these are going to look super sleek
