Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

This is an update of post #369, replacing old pics with new ones where stores have since opened on the east side of the new hall through Sears' former lower level. Since August 25 when the previous photos were taken, there have only been two openings on this side, Ecco (relocating from the top floor), and Torrid.

It looks like Baroli's front will be rebuilt sometime in the future to come in line with Ecco's new front.

This is an update of post #370, replacing old pics with new ones where stores have since opened on the west side of the new hall through Sears' former lower level. Since August 25 when the previous photos were taken, there have been five openings on this side, Pandora, Thomas Sabo, Uno de 50, Rudsak, and Champs.

So, the exterior has got a new canopy going across the Yonge Street frontage above the third floor. Hadn't clued-in to that before.

Meanwhile, downstairs, the latest news is that…

Mendocino has a date for their move from one floor above now: October 7.

The Marc Jacobs quote has been removed. Store branding about to go up?

The only remaining retail space on the west side of the hall, between Shoo and Champs:

On the east side, Virgin Mobile and Lenscrafters will be joined…

Thanks!

That ledge/canopy makes some sense, as the new panelling mentioned by arch_on (quoted below) would be installed below the ledge/canopy for the Nordstrom store,
while the repainted older panels remain above for the Sears office space (maybe with some new billboard areas).

They're re-cladding the building with metal panels with a customized version of this finish. Apparently an enormous amount has been ordered.

I've seen samples of it in person and they're going with more of a silvery-white colour than tan. Also, its got some depth to it: some stripes are reflective, while the rest are matte which gives a nice layered effect that looks different from certain angles.

That corner at the Trinity Square Entrance looks like it will be LED/Electronic Signage, I'm just guessing, but it seems to make sense to me. It also appears that the new signage will continue under the new canopy as well.

I haven't see anything that suggests signage will be going there. It would have to be approved by the city first.

It looks like the exterior will be finished far in advance of the interior. Perhaps they'll get Yonge St. cleaned up before Christmas and continue working indoors until the Fall 2016 opening.
