I can't believe people hated it when it was installed. It is rare we get artwork that evokes such strong social commentary on this city in this city.

The snapshot of the installation being battered by a winter storm even adds another additional layer to the piece.

For sure the best/most ironic part of it is that the folks who paid for it are among the truest personification of its inherent criticism (as evidenced by this very thread).

Can’t remember from the plans, what’s going here? Can’t see from this pic, but they’re quite deep — at least four or five metres. Planters for trees with very deep roots? Seems too deep to be for a water feature unless perhaps they're hiding all the mech underneath.
