Answer: Limited space will prevent fully enclosed shelters. But, the design for surface stops has weather protection from above, behind and at the sides, and is fully accessible.

Well, they could enclose the entire platform and track area at the station, similar to Viva VMC Station, but that only works at the same side stops and it's a lot more expensive.

Real reason: money. Controlled by the suburban automobile-addicted Councillors.

Money yes.

But the only fancy stops are In the semi urban automobile addicted Core and if suburban politicians were in control this line would never have built in the cheap non grade seperated manner it currently is. So no.

If it was up to suburban politicians this would never have been built because we would have to burn all our remaining money away at a three stop scarborough expansion.

Was the line 2 extension a "compromise" of not doing the grade-separated Crosstown-SLRT? I forgot the timeline of which comes first.

The sequence was (https://torontoist.com/2016/10/a-brief-history-of-the-scarborough-subway/):
2010: At-grade ECLRT and transfer SRT/LRT
2011: Grade separated and combined ECLRT/SRT.
2012 (Feb.): Stintz and Council rebellion: FORD removed from transit.
2012 (Mar): At-grade ECLRT and transfer SRT/LRT
2012 (June): Stintz's One City plan, with at-grade ECLRT and B-D Extension to Sheppard.
2012 (July): At-grade ECLRT and transfer SRT/LRT)
2012 (October): TTC asked to study B-D extension (plus at-grade ECLRT progresses)
2012 (November): TTC signs deal with Metrolinx for at-grade ECLRT and transfer SRT/LRT)
2013 (July): B-D extension to STC with 3 stops (plus at-grade ECLRT progresses)
2016 (Jan.): B-D extension to STC with 1 stops (plus at-grade ECLRT progresses)
2018 (June): ???

More so a compromise of not doing a 3 stop subway extension on the Bloor-Danforth line. Instead of doing the 3 station extension of the B-D line, Tory came up with the idiotic idea of the 1-stop extension, and using the savings from that to fund the Eglinton East LRT fully knowing that the savings wouldn't be enough to fund it.

How much work has been completed or ongoing under the tracks of Line1 at the Cedarvale station for the new LRT station underneath? For instance, the mining out to join the two tunnels (east and west) where the TBM’s could not go through. Is there now a raw station box of concrete forming parts of the new station?
Any photos or videos posted anywhere? (Not illustrations)
