Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

They finally had all the iron work done for the roof of the walkway between CIBC and Eglinton Square ready for concrete Wednesday... I haven't looked today but they may have poured. I think that is the last structural concrete (still a lot of road and sidewalk concrete to go).

It's getting there...

Anyone seen Yonge and Eglinton recently and if they have been paving over any of the excavations and removing the temporary surfaces?
As of my last time through there early this past week, they have slowly been removing the decking on the north side of Eglinton, working east from Duplex, and backfilling as they go. They have not been cutting off the tops of the soldier piles as they go however, which means that they will have to go back to remove them.

They have also been backfilling in a couple of isolated spots around Cowbell Lane, but haven't started decking removal there yet.

That is the same approach they used at Mount Pleasant. Switching traffic back and forth between the different sides of the street to fill the hole, and only remove the protruding support columns just before the final compaction and cement base is poured.

And at Leaside as well.

I'm sure that there's a good reason for doing it this way, but I'll be damned if I knew it.
