Eglinton station will undergo substantial Yonge platform alteration. That said, this might happen in the 2 years after Crosstown opens rather than before.

Cedarvale (Eglinton West) has minimal change to previously existing components.

Will the last remaining vitrolite tiles survive??
 
Is there any plans to do a rebuild or update the TTC subway stations on Line 1 that merge with the Crosstown. We just went through on the subway yesterday and I was noticing the station on the University side is looking a little stuck in the 70-80's era.

I'd argue there's nothing wrong with a structure looking like it's from the era when it was built. Especially in this instance: Eglinton West station is a Modernist classic. Just like the other 1970s Spadina Line stations, the architecture is as striking as it was the year it was built, and unlike some of the others which are due for restoration, the finishes here are in quite good shape.
 
This year (autumn) would be a good time to plant grass and trees, instead of the boring grey of concrete. Allow time for it to grow and confirm that they will grow.

Yes, the images include northern Europe.
Besides the greens, all these tracks are on the side of the roads and do not interfere with, or are interfered by, auto traffic...
 
Question for the transit geeks:

What percentage of the Crosstown budget would you reckon is just for the above ground portion between the DVP and Kennedy? And in general, how much does it cost to build the LRT underground per/KM vs. above ground?

The costs for both underground and above ground go up every year. The cost ratio of underground vs above ground is in the range of 3:1 to 5:1.

If you look at Page 11-16 (page 16 is extremely clear) you can see the changes proposed:

Basically, they're shifting the Yonge platform about 70m north of the current location. I believe 2 sets of the current stairs/escalators will be retained without structural modifications. I expect they'll retile the entire platform area for consistency but I don't know the actual decorating plan.

The existing upper concourse won't change much; but it will be significantly expanded.

The Line 1's Eglinton Station's station box is supposed to be shifted north.

"above ground" is a confusing term. I think the intent from @mjl08 was "on-ground" and not above it.
There are a few factors such as station length and station spacing. Assuming 1km spacing, in today's dollars, I'd guess.
Tunneled using TBM (20m deep stations with 100-150m long platforms) = $400 to $600M/km.
Cut-and-cover (10m deep stations with 100-150m long platforms) = $250 to $400M/km
Elevated (80 to 120m long platforms) = $150-250M/km
On street (50 to 80m long platforms) = $100 to $125/km

The design was updated and the final design was approved in March 2018. The Yonge (Line 1) platform is still being extended, but instead of by 70m, now it will only be extended about 24m to the north. Among other things I believe this allows them to keep the pocket track north of Eglinton Station which would have been removed had the platform been extended 70m as originally proposed.

Hey, I just noticed that the 2 most ineffective uses of tax dollars to build infrastructure are the two that Toronto has focused on for most of the past 15 years

Will go buses be able to serve Mount Dennis? i can see them using 400/black creek to get to/from the station and they obviously have connections to the 401/407 (and if I’m being honest even Eglinton itself between the 427/401-Mt Dennis isn bad either
 
how many subway cars will have crosstown line.. 2 cars or 3 cars ?
What subway cars???...........2/3 Freedom LRV cars by BBD or 2 Alstom Citadis Spirit LRV cars depending on BBD delivery. Freedom cars are like TTC/KW cars while Alston are Ottawa cars............29m vs 48.5m/car
