Toronto Crosstown LRT: Cedarvale Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | NORR

Personally I think they should shut down the entire thing from 401 going southbound at least and develop the land. Bury the northbound and sell the land to deveopers, reconnect the neighbourhoods it divided. I live at Glencairn and Marlee area, and I never take it at rush hour unless I am going north. Its much more relaxing to take dufferin, or avenue rd from the 401 south.

I live at Eglinton and I take Dufferin south from the 401... hope that area gets redeveloped to... I like watching Triviso rise and the never ending yorkdale construction. Avenue Road is better than dufferin traffic wise. The problem with shutting the Allen down at the 401 is that there is not proper on and off ramps at both Bathurst and at dufferin.. As for the Allen itself, the only place they could fit the traditional doughnut style on and offs is at Lawrence which is why I think it is the logical end.

Lots going on here. Rain meant I couldn't spend as much time as wanted trying to surround the site to see if I could get closer. Going to be a major transit hub in a few years. Surprised the strip of Eglinton heading west from here still seems so dumpy.

Shouldn't the entrances signage indicate which line it serves?

And I'm sure it's been brought up already but why is it not ok to call this station Eglinton West station but it's ok to call the one at at Yonge & Eglinton, Eglinton station?

Looks really good - but I tend to agree, that they should really be developing the land on top of the stations, or at least where the new entrances are, to maximize investment. The TTC has hundreds of thousands of square metres of developable real estate, why not start the process here, and incorporate the entrances into a larger entity.

That left turn lane onto the Allen Northbound is going to be totally and woefully inadequate, it looks like it can only store 6 or 7 cars. I mean it was like that before construction, and I'm not really sure what the solution would be (perhaps a single westbound through lane on Eglinton to allow for a double left turn lane onto the Allen?), but this area is going to continue to be a traffic nightmare even after construction is done.

And I'm sure it's been brought up already but why is it not ok to call this station Eglinton West station but it's ok to call the one at at Yonge & Eglinton, Eglinton station?
Because Metrolinx decided to hire consultants to recommend names all along the Crosstown, and because Metrolinx decided to use their own naming conventions (the same conventions they use for GO Stations) for the Crosstown line.

99% of people here know that their naming conventions used for this entire line makes no sense whatsoever, but to Metrolinx the names all make sense somehow.
