Starting July 29, important construction work will begin at Confederation GO station to install new safety equipment including bollards in the parking lot. To do this we will have to close some areas of the parking lot and the bus loop. The work will be performed in two phases:
· Phase 1 of construction is expected to take one week and will not affect current bus service at the station.
· Phase 2 of construction is expected to begin August 12 and will affect the parking lot and bus service for approximately four weeks. During this phase, the bus stops will be temporarily relocated to the west side of the bus loop.
Here’s what you need to know:
• Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• Please follow all directional signage and use caution when moving through construction areas.
• Updates will be provided as the work progresses.
• Schedules may be adjusted due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Thank you for your patience while we perform this important work.
Confederation GO station is apart of the Niagara GO Expansion Project
Confederation Station is on track for completion in 2025 and will serve as the gateway to increased service to Niagara in the future. In combination with the ongoing pocket track installation near West Harbour GO, tracks will connect to the main Lakeshore West Line on the east side of the station eliminating the need for GO trains to reverse into the station. This will cut 20-minutes of travel time on trips to and from Niagara and facilitate rail service to Confederation GO Station and beyond.
