Thanks for explaining that.

...personally, I like 'em loud and fabulous. But I'll be happy with just the way they are. :)
I agree. Not sure why people seemed to be opposed to coloured LEDs on buildings here. If the diamonds could light up different colours at night it would be absolutely gorgeous and toronto buildings do not have enough light features currently.

I think the concern is it can come off looking tacky. Especially highly saturated mix of bold colours with fast animation, which would remind me of a casino.

I personally think if they implemented softer muted colours with slow pulsing lights would add a lot of visual interest at night. It would help balance the skyline at night versus the CN tower to the west.

Fair enough. I was thinking more slow gradual changes overtime what make for a compromise. Either way, if they're going to do something like that, I hope they'll make it interesting. But as it stands, the proprietors just might be happy the way it is. And that's okay too.

@ WeirdFishes

...it appears my matter of factly reply came off as a little rude and a bit too curt there. It was not my intention to offend. And in retrospect, I could of probably worded that much better. So my apologies for that. I'll try to reply with better manners in the future. /bows

With it being a Canadian bank putting their stamp on this building, they'll want something that looks dignified… so I suspect we will only see white light on it.

You're probably right. But one can still look dignified even in changing one's colours. Or even have a scheme that reflects the CIBC brand in subtle ways. Nor does it stop them from going all out to reflect certain holidays and festivities. It will be interesting what they do in the end, even if they do really nothing.

What's the plan for these stairs? I don't remember them in the site plans... Kind of an odd look sitting in front of a third of the the facade like that (unlike the SBA side stairwell which is nicely tucked away in the corner).

From the renderings I believe they lead to the rail overbuild park:
