As for floor to ceiling windows some units are really expensive to heat or cool in our extreme seasons but it does vary by building, presumably some use better materials than others. Also, if you look up on a sunny Saturday or Sunday at least half of the windows have their blinds or curtains drawn in buildings that have floor to ceiling windows.

The blinds are more likely to be solar screen blinds to protect carpets and furnishings from UV light, that to manage heat loss or gain. Whether the windows are floor to ceiling, or somewhat less, protection from UV damage is going to be an issue for many occupants. From the outside - there is no way to tell the difference between solar screens and regular blinds or curtains.

The YMCA is now a pile of rubble.
