October 07
There was a tieback anchoring machine on a lowboy in front of the site with police escort on Oct 07. From the looks of things, they could not off load it onto site and ended up leaving the area.

They could have gone to the east entrance to the rail corridor to get it to the site.

I found it odd the machine was being delivery now, when no excavation had started yet.

There was some digging going on then with police on site and the street close to traffic

Nov 23,
The retaining wall should becoming down shortly as they have excavated the earth behind it as well to the main bridge support.

They have torn down the bridge railing, so the construction site is wide open and looks so much bigger. I hope they end up tearing down that unused section of the underpass. (since it's obviously not needed for the trains)

Not needed for trains, but it would be very useful to have that section remain there for the future eastward extension of the PATH over Yonge St. The renders show it staying in place as well. Besides, it adds a substantial amount of character to that overpass with the overhanging mini-vaulted sections. The southern side of the overpass looks fairly plain in comparison, as do both sides of the overpasses at Bay, York, and Simcoe. This one catches your attention unlike any of the others, so I'd like to see it stay.

^ Nice! I never noticed that in the renderings before. Glad to see that they are using it for the path extension. Looks great!

I'm confused. This is a condo, correct? If so, why the red carpet, and the line up and spectators? I get the relationship to theatre, but is there a physical connection to theatre that I am missing?

Purely marketing. Everyone can feel like a movie star when living Backstage!

The way some of these condos are being designed today, I wouldn't be surprised if those are townhomes at the base and not retail.
