I think it's already an icon. Doesn't mean it's a particularly lovely one. But it's certainly memorable, like spectacular train wrecks can be memorable.

In any case, I like Merriam-Webster's third definition for the term "icon:"

those definitely look like 3 concrete columns going at the top in this pic. I'm curious as to what they'll do. Perhaps they're building up the mechanical bunker to it's highest point on the south side in concrete and sloping it down with steel columns on the way down?

From what I can remember most of the curved crown will just be acting as a screen/parapet.

Yep, it makes me feel like I'm back in Vietnam. In fact, Vietnam had much nicer shopping malls and food courts than this. (and I am being serious)

I should be able to do that... some of the aspect ratios on my shots are portrait and some are landscape, but I think it's doable.

Judging by the photos posted just now, you may finally be wrong about something!!!
